Arta Vie Charity
Foundation

The Arta Vie Charity Foundation was founded by the famous Moldovan-born violinist, Alexandra Conunova in her hometown Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, in 2016. Arta Vie works for a very diverse range of people that rarely - if ever - have an opportunity to experience live music, coming to a concert hall. Numerous special skills are involved in the ability to play music for people, who face difficulties in communicating or other health problems.

Our musicians – first scholarship holders, are three highly talented students of the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Republican Music High School. The Foundation’s main goals are supporting our scholarship holders by offering them a yearly scholarship; organizing concerts in various social institutions for those unable to enjoy live music in concert halls; creating a collection of musical instruments with the purpose of providing them to highly talented music students who could not afford them otherwise.

Since its build-up, the Foundation organized and participated in more than 20 concerts bringing the joy of hearing music to those, who cannot afford it due to life disadvantages, in such healthcare institutions of Moldova as: the public institution “Educational Centre for Children with Cancer”, AO “SOS Autism Moldova”, “Ignatenco” children’s hospital, Oncology Institute, Casa Angelus (Hospice Angelus, Isacova village). Our scholarship holders have also participated in crowdfunding events for Hospice Angelus Moldova and other similar organizations.

Our concert programs are skillfully created for the listener’s joy and distraction from their challenging day-to-day life. The concerts incorporate an open conversation between the performers and the public: the musicians talk with the listeners about themselves, about the music they perform, and they answer many questions. This creates a warm, informal atmosphere, which invites the audience into the unfamiliar and fascinating world of the music community. Through these activities, our young musicians discover that music can have an impact on a person’s mindset and mood. It can be considered a therapy supplement. They demonstrate an extraordinary role and exceptional power of music and become aware of the noble predestination of a musician.

MASTERCLASSES

Another direction of the Foundation's activity is the organization of a series of free master classes in the field of musical art: instrumental and vocal, for students from artistic educational institutions with a musical profile of Moldova.

Famous musicians, who have already achieved great success in instrumental or vocal performance and have experience in pedagogy, are invited as masters to lead the master classes. Special attention is given during the selection of invitees to ensure that the teachers are natives of Moldova. Artists such as Alexey Stadler,  Gârneț, Nelu Storojenco, Nataila Tanasiiciuc and others are musicians who understand the specifics of national culture and art in Moldova.

The master classes are organized 3-4 times during the school year. At the end of each master class session, a concert is organized where the students who participated in the master classes perform on stage together with the teacher who led the master class.

The results of these educational programs are:

  • Increasing the professional competence level of the participants through direct communication with world-class performing artists;

  • The ability to understand the individual system and methodology of the master teacher;

  • Practical acquisition of certain important professional skills;

  • Development of the cognitive abilities of the participants in the master classes;

  • Increasing the motivation of students towards forming their own style of interpretation and artistic activity.

The masterclasses create a new space for developing the participants' own artistic thinking capacities, offering opportunities for personal growth and interpersonal communication, systematizing the knowledge accumulated so far, and successfully implementing it in practice.

Masterclasses with teachers who are also successful international performers will be an opportunity for students from musical educational institutions in the Republic to receive consultations and showcase their performances. It is worth mentioning that these courses will be free for all interested parties.
